Founder, Clinical Psychologist
Hello! I’m Dr. Krista Crowe, a licensed psychologist specializing in mind-body wellness. I have a passion for helping clients uncover what matters most to them, and supporting healing from pain and trauma. I believe therapy is an active process: together, we set goals and develop a path toward living a values-driven life. People who know me often describe me as open, authentic, and dedicated to growth, grit, and excellence.
I’m a native Nebraskan and earned my undergraduate degree at Concordia University in Seward, NE, and my doctorate at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. Outside of work, you’ll likely find me in my garden or enjoying time outdoors. It is an honor to accompany clients through difficult seasons and help them find a pathway to healing.

Pre-Surgical Psychological Evaluations
Pain Evaluations
Pain is complicated and often requires interdisciplinary assessment to determine the best treatment options. Your physician or health insurance may require an evaluation before an invasive procedure. The most common procedures are:
Spinal Cord Stimulator
Intrathecal Pump or Targeted Drug Delivery (TDD) System
Bariatric Surgery Evaluations
Prior to having any type of bariatric surgery your surgeon wants to make sure you have the best possible chance at successfully losing weight and maintaining your health, prior to the invasive surgery. Psychological evaluation is an important tool to assess your readiness for surgery and enhance your chances of a successful outcome.
Organ Transplant Evaluations
Prior to a life-changing surgery it is important to understand the risks and benefits of the procedure. Your surgeon wants to ensure the best possible outcome, which includes a psychological evaluation to assess a number of factors research has shown affects outcomes. Power of the Mind Psychology will help you examine these factors and make recommendations to your surgeon.
Psychological Assessment and Diagnosis
Assessment to Guide Treatment
Evidence-based practice is the gold standard. For certain types of treatment, including medication management and determining the right psychotherapy, psychological evaluation may be necessary. Generally this includes an interview with a psychologist and a certain amount of written questionnaires or more objective psychological assessments. Your psychologist then writes a thorough report and recommendations for next steps. Pricing varies depending on the type of evaluation needed.
Assessment for Legal Purposes
There are a number of reasons your attorney may recommend a psychological evaluation. Information regarding diagnosis and your functioning can help your lawyer to best represent you and help you obtain the support you need.
Of note, Power of the Mind Psychology does not provide forensic evaluations to guide certain court decisions such as divorce, custody, sex offender evaluations, or court-mandated treatment recommendations. Contact for availability, appropriateness, and pricing.

Insurance coverage varies widely, even within the same insurance companies. Please call your insurance company to find out your specific benefits. A few questions to ask are:
What behavioral or mental health services are covered with my plan.
How many sessions am I allowed or is there a coverage limit with my plan?
Does my plan cover out-of-network providers? If so, what percentage of the fee will I be responsible for?
It is important to know that insurance companies require that I share a clinical diagnosis with them and some provide coverage only for certain diagnoses. Additionally, they may ask that I share treatment plans or summaries while they determine whether to cover continued sessions. This information will become part of the insurance company files. In some cases, they may share your personal information with a national medical information databank.
Please remember that you always have the right to self pay for my services to further protect the confidentiality of your treatment.
